The early-access form
If you request early access we collect your first name and your email address. That is all the form asks for. We use them for one thing: to tell you when SEEN opens in Chicago. We don’t sell them and we don’t share them with advertisers.
Submissions are stored in a Google Sheet that SEEN controls, so Google processes that information on our behalf. The form also carries a hidden field that only automated scripts fill in; if it is filled, nothing is stored.
To ask us to remove your details, message @letsgetseen on Instagram.
Invite links
A link that starts with joinseen.app/p/ opens an invitation someone sent from the app. That page shows the inviter’s first name, the event, its date and its venue to anyone who has the link, and nothing else. Those pages are marked so search engines don’t index them, they are never cached, and the link itself is never written to our logs.
What this site doesn’t do
This site has no analytics, no advertising pixels, no social-media trackers, and sets no cookies of its own. Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party. The only requests the page makes are to this site and, when you submit the form, to the sheet described above.
Hosting
joinseen.app is served by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (such as the address a request came from) for the site to operate. Invite previews are read from Supabase, the database provider behind the app.
The app
The SEEN app collects more than this website does — a profile, an age range, a gender, the events you join and the messages you send to your group — and its own Privacy Policy, Terms of Use and Community Guidelines are shown inside the app before you create an account. Those documents, like this page, are working drafts pending attorney review.
How we improve SEEN
We record the steps you take to join an event, such as opening it, tapping “I’m interested”, creating an account and joining, with the time and a random ID kept on your phone, so we can see where people get stuck. Once you have an account, these steps are linked to it. We don’t use third-party analytics, and we delete these records after 12 months.
